Danish Court Sees Newspaper As Target; Extends Chechnyan Suspect’s Detention

September 21st, 2010
AHN News Staff

Copenhagen, Denmark (AHN) – A Danish court on Monday decided to keep a Chechnyan man in detention for two more weeks after he was identified as Lors Dukayev and is believed to have prepared a letter bomb for a newspaper, which published caricatures of Prophet Mohammed.

The court’s decision means he will remain in custody until October 4.

Dukayev, who was slightly injured when a letter bomb exploded in his hands last month, told the court that he was a Belgian resident and had been living in Liege since past few years.

Talking to reporters after the court’s hearing, his lawyer Niels Ancker Rasmussen said that his detention did not come as a surprise since they were expecting it in view of the nature of this case.

Dukayev refused investigators’ request to talk anything about the attack. However, investigators believed that daily Jyllands-Posten newspaper, which controversially published Prophet Mohammed’s cartoons in September 2005, was primarily targeted in the attack.

Danish police had captured Dukayev shortly after the rigged letter exploded in his hand at central Copenhagen’s economy Joergensen hotel. He was hiding in the nearby park after the blast. Police charged Dukayev for illegally possessing explosives and risking people’s lives, however, no terrorism charges were held on him.

Postcard Marketing Ideas for Small Businesses

December 15th, 2009

Although the economy is making it tough for you to sell more than you want to, it’s really not difficult to do so. You can sell more. People are still buying even with the present status of our economy. And in order for you to take advantage of that certain fact, here are ideas you can use for your own marketing campaign such as your postcard printing. These suggestions can help you connect well with your clients and prospects using your marketing tools.

Know your target clients.
This is the very first step. You have to know your target clients. It’s a total waste of time for you to put money and effort on a marketing campaign such as your postcard printing if the people you’re going to give it to would only ignore them. Part of the success of any marketing strategy is the people you’re targeting. Who are the people you want to connect with? What do they need and want? What are the demographics?

In addition, knowing your target clients would also help you narrow down your offer. Don’t try to give your offer to everybody. It will only make your offer less attractive as people would be wondering why they need you exactly. By giving the right offer to the right people, you are more likely to get more favorable response to your marketing message.

Get to know your target clients.
So you know who your target clients are. The next step is to get to know them. This means not only having the demographics to support your marketing strategy, but more importantly, making sure that you really sit and talk with them. By doing so, you’re able to get ideas and concepts direct from the horses’ mouths for you to be able to provide them with what they’re looking for. This then brings us to the next suggestion…

Create offers that are irresistible.
By knowing full well your target clients, you’ll be able to provide them with an offer that they would have a hard time to resist. How can you resist something that you’ve been looking for a very long time? Once you know your target clients, you’ll be able to know what they will find appealing and enticing.

Advertise where they are.
This is sound advice indeed. Advertising where your target clients can be found is one effective way to get them to actually see and recognize you. Find a publication that they read and advertise there. Bring your postcard printing and set them up in stores where your target clients frequently go to. Just make sure that you get permission from the store owner first before you set up your print postcards in their area.

This is the time to use these powerhouse techniques to help you get as many clients as you can. Even with the present economy, it should not stop you from marketing effectively, thus generating potential clients that can further grow your business.

What Is The Size of Your Target Market?

December 11th, 2009

Marketing effectively means knowing your target market full well. And learning about your target market means you also need to know the size of the market that you plan to provide your services to.

When doing your marketing plan, the size of your target market is one important consideration. For you to determine the most effective marketing strategy such as your poster printing that would produce the most favorable response, you need to think about how many and how much you have to serve. It will also help you determine how much of your budget you have to dish out for your target marketing.

So here’s the process for you to estimate your market size.

Know your target market. Of course, it goes without saying that you need to know your target market before you can estimate the size. What type of customer would you want to serve? What group are you searching for? What segment in the population do you want to reach out to with your poster printing for example? By knowing the exact group you’re targeting, it becomes easier to target the size of your market. It also goes a long way in helping you decrease if not diminish wasting your time and energy, as well as your limited marketing budget.

Know the needs of your target market. Again, it is easy to learn how your target market ticks if you know their needs. What are their needs and wants? How do they create the demand for any product or service? You need to know what will make your target market have a need for your offer. What you provide in your marketing message should be parallel to what you’re target market is looking for.

Know the information you need to know. What information and details do you need to make an estimate of the size of your target market? This would mean the demographics of the market you’re targeting. What’s the age distribution within the geographic area you want to serve? How many households does the area have? How much is the average family income? Are there home market values? What about the educational attainment? Enrollment rates? Do you have any competition? If there are, then how many? What does your target market buy? What service do they avail of? How much do they pay for such service?

Know the sources of information, collect the data, and then analyze. Where do you get the information? There are a lot of surveys already done offline and online that you need not exert too much effort to get the information you need. However, if you are looking for more specialized details, you might need to do your own surveys and research appropriate for your needs. After knowing how you can get them, you can then dig up the data that meets your needs.

And of course, after culling all the information, it’s time for you to interpret and analyze what you got. What does your information tell you? What does all of those data mean?

Finally, estimate your market size. Now that you have all the data you need and you’ve already analyzed them, you need to come up with an estimate of the size of your target market, which you then apply to your marketing plan.

By knowing your target market size, you are more likely to have a business plan that can project almost exact information to help you get the outcome you want.

How To Captivate A Target Market With Poster Printing

November 27th, 2009

Do you know how to captivate an audience with your poster printing? Does your poster printing company give you the best and most attractive posters to get those specific target market demographics? If you are unsure, then do not worry. Captivating a specific kind of audience demographic only needs some precise planning in poster printing. You or anyone can easily make this happen by using a few proven techniques.

Message composition – One of these proven techniques is proper message composition. A target audience will usually have its own subset of frequently used symbols, languages and topics. If you know these frequently used areas of interest, then you can integrate it as a part of your color posters message. The premise here is that with a highly familiar poster message for the target audience, they will respond better to it than your ordinary old generic poster message. You can captivate them by basically speaking their own language and talking about the topics that are important to them.

So, for example, the message composition for a male target audience should be completely different from a female one. For males, you may want to have messages related to cars, gadgets, sports and sex while for females you might want to have poster messages related to beauty, relationships shopping and jewelry. Targeted message compositions like this will definitely captivate the male or female demographics. So try and see what specific interests your target demographics have.

Targeted attractive images – Images are basically also part of your targeted message composition, but of course on a visual level. So the basic concept still applies, using the interests of your target audience to your advantage. Using images that relate to these interests will work in attracting your target audience to reading your color posters.

So, using the example given from the last item, targeting men for your posters will have you placing images of cars, sports and sexy women on your posters, while targeting women will have you placing images of beautiful women(and men), pictures of people in relationships or maybe a little shopping. One look at these and your target audience should be hooked immediately, reading your posters once they see it. It is a simple and effective technique that always works.

Poster location management – Finally, captivating your target audience means knowing where they hang out. You cannot just blindly place your posters everywhere. It is best to put them in areas where your target demographics hang around. So, for men, you might want to try placing your posters at sporting arenas and bars, while for women you might want to post your posters near shopping outlets and salons. You’ll reach more of your target demographic in this way and increase your chances of captivating your target market.

So if you really want to get your target market responding, try matching your message, your image and the poster location to match their preferences and interests. You’ll save a lot of effort and will be efficiently managing your resources in poster printing this way.

Marketing Copy That Is ‘Magnetic’

November 09th, 2009

Writing effective copy is essential for any marketing strategy. Whether it’s as poetic as that of the custom greeting cards or greeting card printing, or as brief and straightforward as posters and flyers, effective copy means having content that would catch leads to your business and keep them.

Being effective in providing great copy for your target readers is a skill that marketers and business owners should be able to acquire. Whether you’re the one writing your ad or you hired a copywriter to do it for you, a magnetic copy is important to any promotional strategy.

One way to have an effective copy that draws clients and prospects in is to write a copy that is ‘magnetic’. This means that you and your copywriter should be able to understand the emotions that drive your target clients to purchase your product or service. What will make them interested in what you have to say? What can ‘magnetize’ them to your products and services? In order for you to do that, you have to make them realize that they were sorely lacking something without your business.

Great marketing copy makes your clients and prospects feel that they need you to make their lives better. It is the words that you write that will make them see how insufficient their lives were before you came into the picture. Your message will be perfect to your target clients if you’ll be able to make them understand that you have something that they were looking for for such a long time. And that their search is finally over.

Writing great copy is all about getting your target readers to feel all the emotions when they read your message – anger, sadness, happiness, excitement. Great copy means you have to connect all the elements in your design so that it all points to your message that will strike the emotions of your target clients. Your message will draw them in and encourage them to feel emotional about your message. Great copy would make your clients and prospects attached to your marketing collateral that they would want to know and ask for more information. Great copy can help them decide whether to take your offer or not.

It’s all about connecting with your target readers with your marketing copy. Always bear in mind that what you write about is what will encourage and convince your target clients of your worth. A great copy will surely get them to consider your offer, and eventually make them decide to give your product or service a try.
