Make Money With Your Free Business Cards

July 21st, 2010

Many people use business cards to promote their business but the vast majority do not use them effectively.

What information is on your run of the mill card? Company name, maybe a tag-line, address, phone numbers, fax, email & or website. This is all fine and lets people know who you are and how to contact you, but in reality most will end up in the trash and you will soon be forgotten about. Why not use your free business cards to grow your business and to make you even more money?

For years now I have been using free business cards to lure clients to my business and giving them a reason not to throw my card into the trash. My business is a handyman and mowing service which has been operating for six years now. On the back of every card is an offer which expires after twelve months, always December 31. For example; my current offer is a 10% discount offer. If a client spends say 250 dollars on a job then I write 25 in one of the printed boxes on the back of the card. Every time they use my service they produce the card and I fill out the discount that they have earned. They have until December 31 to use the credits they have accumulated. The credits are not taken as cash but must be taken as free work.

Most clients take a few cards to hand out to friends and relatives because they know they are getting something for nothing. Every 12 months I change my offers and sometimes I combine a couple of offers together. I also reward clients for referring new customers, and I also do monthly prize draws. My clients are extremely happy and remain loyal as they are receiving extra on top of the quality work which I provide. My free business cards never get thrown away because they must be produced to fill in the discount on the back of the card.

The company I use does provide zero cost business cards but the printer will display their contact information on the rear. If you do not mind advertising for someone else instead of using this valuable space for yourself then you can use this option. I always pay a little extra and have the rear of the card printed with my special offer at the time. (No printer advertising when you do this.) This is an extremely cost effective method of expanding your business and making money out of your business cards.

The website I use is the cheapest printing for any product that i have found anywhere yet they still provide excellent quality every time. I order 2000 cards at a time and only need to do do one small job and the cards are paid for. To me it is like printing money.

Add Some Color to Your Free Business Cards

July 07th, 2010

If you are looking for free business cards, it will make sense to look for those cards that you can obtain without needing to check out a host of print shops. There is after all no sense in paying these shops a high price and there is also little sense in printing the cards on your home printer because it is actually possible to find full color business cards that you are available for free.

The first thing that many think about when the start to choose business colors is that neutral colors or black and white are the only options available and worth choosing. These colors do make the card look more serious and since you want your customer/client to think about you and your business seriously, it does pay to pick from such colors.

In fact, people also like to wear business suits that are of these colors and even offices are painted in such colors so that they promote a sense of seriousness. Therefore, even if you are looking for free business cards, be sure to check out those that are made from colors that are neutral or which are predominantly black or white.

At the same time, there is a lot to be said in favor of also choosing more colorful cards. The right colors can make the card look very businesslike and they will also promote a sense of harmony. You do not want your cards to stand out too much from the rest or be too noticeable. The only exception is when your business is relatively unknown which is when you will want your business cards to stand out and be noticed.

Therefore, for a newly established business, the best choice for free business cars is one that makes use of full colors. This is because colored cards offer a few benefits that black and white (and neutral colored) business cards do not. For one, colored business cards stand out more than black and white cards. When your client puts your colored card in their wallet and then opens the wallet they will be immediately attracted by the sight of a colored business card.

The more they notice your card the more likely it is that they will want to get in touch with you. These colored cards will certainly make your clients realize that you are exceptional and also dedicated which is why you have taken the trouble to create a standout card.

In fact, colored cards also help to convince your clients that you are a creative person. It shows that you are not just another run of the mill business person and that you are imaginative and creative. Colored cards also help to make your company/business logo stand out more. This in turn helps to make your brand or logo more recognizable and for a relatively unknown business, making their brand more recognizable is a definite plus point.

Finally, the use of a colored business card also means that your clients will remember your name and company more readily than is the case with black or white business cards. If you get your clients to remember and recognize your business you will stand a better chance of getting your client interested in your business offers.
